Cooling equipment
Dry coolers and water-cooled chillers matched to site climate, facility water and coolant temperatures.
The heat has to leave the site. Dry coolers, adiabatic-assist units and water-cooled chillers are selected against the design ambient, the facility supply temperature the CDU approach implies, the water the site is allowed to use, and any heat buyer that would rather have the heat than reject it.
We select and integrate heat-rejection equipment from established manufacturers against the project's temperatures and redundancy, and we size it for the summer design day while protecting it for the winter one. In cold climates that means glycol concentration, pump sizing and heat-exchanger derating calculated together, because each of them costs something and they trade against each other.
Cooling equipment is where water and energy claims are made or lost. A dry-cooler-only site uses no water for evaporation at the cooling boundary; make-up for sampling, leaks and fluid replacement is counted separately. An evaporative-assist site does use water, and the hours it runs belong in the design basis rather than in the brochure.
